I think the limited backwards compatibility is because of licensing and /or royalties to Nvidia. They would have to emulate the Nvidia graphics code on the Xbox 360. since the Xbox 360 now uses ATI, Nvidia aren't going to let them do that for free. The other option is to completely recode the
