I would say it's a bug as I can verify this on my local CFMX7 server. It
seems that if you have a DML statement i.e. delete, update or insert and you
have named that query and if you do a select query afterwards with the same
query name, CF copies the name to the variables scope. Really strange.
I suspect that its your use of Append. Appending to a file means that
everytime the file has to be opened, seeked to the end, and the new value
appended. This is pretty slow if you to it a bunch of times.
I suggest creating the string in memory and then writing it out to file.

When doing a lot of string concatenation, you should totally use the Java

cfset jsbOutput = CreateObject( java, java.lang.StringBuffer ).Init()

cfset jsbOutput.Append( some text ) /

Ok this is a bit weird. I am playing with Application.cfc trying to figure out
its peculiarities. I saw in the CFML documentation an example of an output in
the onApplicationStart function. That seemed odd but I gave it a try. It

I want to do a REALY simple banner rotation on each page load, where the
banner is not an image, but a small file containing an image with some
text.
So, on the first load, it would run:
cfinclude template=banner1.cfm
Then, perhaps:
cfinclude template=banner2.cfm
Then, perhaps:
cfinclude
I take that in the spirit in which it was given. But the thing is that I
rarely send to multiple people in one cfmail. It's usually a loop, or a bcc.
Anyway, I have tried the comma and I seem to recall only the first person

Solution 1 would be to stop the ad after 1 month and notify the seller that
the ad has ran its initial course and that if they have not sold the item to
log in and re-list it for free for 1 more month. (people like being given
free stuff after the fact... more so than they do up front)
Solution 2
Personally, I put NULL into the table, or do not update the field if it is
unnecessary in my code.
cfquery datasource=oracleDSN
UPDATE aTable
SET This = 'that',
Foo = 101,
BAR = NULL
/cfquery
OR
cfquery datasource=oracleDSN
INSERT INTO aTable
