Hey Rick,
That's only a cap, made from aluminum with an o-ring around it for tension
to hold it in place.
Just pry it out and you shall see a grease fitting.

I looked up the radiator for a 71 chevelle under 454 and it gave 2 row, 3
row, and 4 row option with brand names of Visteon, Modine, and Go/Dan
Industries.

I too have the same problem with the one on my 70. I think it just needs to
be heated up a few times to lose some of its firmness and become soft.
