I would definitely go with the BIG BLOCK! With a big car you need torque. In my opinion you will achieve this easier with a BIG BLOCK. As far as being reliable, as long as your are not over revving it all the time you will be fine. It will definitely take care of any pesky Mustangs if you build it

Vapor lock is caused by heat in the fuel lines. If you eliminate a big source of this heat, the mechanical fuel pump that's attached to the block, and use an electric pump and route the fuel lines accordingly, that should bypass the source of heat transfer that causes the vapor lock.  When I

I usually take a can of carb cleaner and fill the bowl of the carb.  start it up, by the time the carb cleaner burns off the fuel pump will have already reprimed itself.  if its been sitting a while, crank it a few times to get the oil recirculated through the pump/bearings/lifters/etc. Tom
