I used an AGR box as a replacement on my 67 (already had P/S) and I found it
to be a bit stiffer than the regular box; meaning I couldn't 'palm' turn the
car. It wasn't so stiff as to not be power, but not as free and easy as
before. If you have another P/S box, you might consider someone like
Mike, is right on in describing the correct way to do a wire solder joint.
All you need is a small film of solder to fill the voids in the wire
connection.
Resistance is determined by what the electricity needs to flow through
whether it be the wire itself and each connection. The longer the
I was at
Blockbuster last night and saw a movie with a '70 on the cover. I think it
was called Speed Demon. The description on the back of it was something
like "a group of hot rodders take over a small town and conjur up the
supernatural in their quest for speed" while some guy tries to
Count me in as a crimper solderer.
Like having to do wiring repairs just once.
I've also replaced brass terminls inside connectors which is a step up the
ladder in being a PIA but saves a splice.
Or use a piece of factory wire with the terminal attached already and hide
splice in harness.

I'd like to suggest the use of a heat shrink tube
wherever possible, in lieu of the electrical tape.

Hi all..
Anyone see the new tee shirt? Great SS on the front along with Corvette and
66-67 Nova..I think you can get them thru their web site
IN-N-Outburger.com. They always have cool tee shirts and this one is the
best..For those who don't know IN-N-Out, they are only in California,
I like to solder all connections/connectors if possible. Shrink tube is
only way to go instead of tape. A little trick is to put a dab of clear
silicone on the connection before sliding shrink tube over it and then
applying heat. This makes a very nice waterproof soldered connection.
I know
I'd like to agree with everyone on the shrink. I keep many sizes of the
stuff around
and in my work truck. We use shrink on cable connectors on cell sites. Even
use it on
ground wires at the crimp lugs that bolt to the buss points. Outside
connections are
treated beyond that. First black tape that
All and many good Points about a reliable solder connections have been
covered. One other tid bit I would like to add is the too used to heat
the
conductors to temperature .. I see on shows like American Street Rod, OCC
and Cut Chop and Rebuild ? them using a butane pencil torch.

If you have a stock valve train, you don't have to use tall valve covers,
but if you have roller rockers you do. I'm not looking at your car, but I
have a hard time believing that tall valve covers would get in the way of
the brake booster. It's possible though, I guess. To prevent valve
Dale,
Thanks for your reply.
As I don't have a power box I think I will buy the AGR from Summit.
It's either that or the boneyard, and I've been spoiled with new parts
lately. A bit pricey at $329.95 but it is manufactured with new
components and gives a 12:1 ratio.
I think I have no choice

Several BB Chevy Valve covers were factory dimpled to clear the
