Unfortunately if it sat idle for more than a week the jets or something would
plug and the photo would come out with lines through them, etc. Using the head

knowledge those aren't actual jet engines but something known as a "Ducted Fan
Unit". They work (and sound) very much like an actual jet engine. At any rate,

I measured my ' 69 SS 396 at 54 inches but keep in mind I haven't began the restoration yet and the car sat for 20 years. I would guess that the suspension may have sagged a bit so you may want to stick with your estimate of 55 inches to be on the safe side.
