Because I have a similar Craftsman air compressor, with 5.5 HP 25 GAL.,
with the vertical tank. Mine is only the single stage, max. pressure
130psi, and it is
i guess it depends on how serious the wrenching is going to be. i say any serious use of air compressor requires at least 5 HP, 60 gallon tank and two stage (none of mine are but i wish they were).
a 2-stage compressor is more efficient, cooler running and longer lasting than single stage

agreed on the oiless 'pressorsnoisy as all get out,,and generate alot of heatalso condensation in the air lines from the heated air is pretty bad in mine,,especially when its humid,,I've got the 6 hp/30sumptin tankused those water separators from Sears,,,really didnt work very

If there's no particular reason you've chosen Craftsman, then I'd take a
trip to Lowe's or Home Depot to look at them. Outside of Harbor Freight,
they have the best deal
