my 1970 LS6 auto I would manually shift at 6400 RPM... it never shifted
automatically by itself even when manually in 1st..

I'm told the Turbo 400 transmissions basically have an idiot shift at about
5800 - 6000 rpm. Even if your shifter is in first, at this rpm the
transmission will still automatically shift into 2nd. This makes sense, as
mine does just that at about 6000 rpm. Not sure if we can or how
ry manuals.

I have a TH-400 in my 73 C-20 that will downshift into 1st from 2nd, but not to 2nd from 3rd...got any idea
why? It also shifts very quickly from 1st to second
