I need to pick up a 4 speed Muncie tranny for my 66

rock crusher M22 available for $1400. Talking to my machine shop guy, he is
expecting my 396 to produce 400 to 425 horsepower when I put it
together.

I would spend another hundred dollars or so and buy
a Tremec TKO-500 5spd.

Clint,
Give me the pros and cons, besides the obvious 5th

Isn't your Chevelle a manual trans car? If so,why
do you need a new driveshaft,pilot bearing,trans
mount,flywheel,etc?
My DD Performance Viper T56 cost me
$2645,delivered. That was just the transmission and shifter. Total cost of
parts

So,to compare apples to apples, you can't put an
M22 in there for just $1400.
