I INSTALLED THE POWERTRAX NO-SLIP TRACTION SYSTEM. IT WAS WAS ONE OF THE BEST
THINGS I DID TO THE CAR. IT TOOK ME APPROX. TWO HOURS TO INSTALL (AND I TOOK
MY TIME, FROM JACKING THE CAR UP TO WASHING MY HANDS), I DID NOT HAVE TO
DISASSEMBLE THE RING AND
cost you twice as much in parts and
labor. Plus you may need to pull the whole rear.

Thanks everyone for the info. Looks like I'm going with 3:73.

Eaton is what I put in the Chevelle, but I haven't driven it yet so I don't

I can leave more than a squeak with the truck, and the posi will help! I
never race it, but just play around with it! Again, if I'm going to do it
now, I want to make sure I have the right one! I don't want to look back
later and find out I chose the wrong one!

They told me with the 700R4 they wanted me to be hitting 2000 RPM's at 70
MPH. We ran the math and with the large Michelins I have a 3:73 works
perfect! My question is what brand or style of posi? As is, the truck will
burn 250 feet of rubber and make a 10 Ft mark in second! It has an LT1 in

I'm in the planning stage to put a posi in my 46 Chevy truck! It has a Ford
8.8 in it! I plan on putting a 3:73 gear in it and am curious to know what
brand and type you would recommend? Eaton, Auburn?

I'm considering upgrading the rear end on my 46 Chevy truck. It has an 8.8
Ford rear end! Does anyone have an opinion on what style or brand they would
use! Eaton? Auburn? I'm planning on putting a 3:73 gear in it!

So, I have heard a lot of opinions as to the merits of having positraction. I am thinking about adding it to my Chevelle and wondering what the list thinks about it. I have a 71 SS convertible. 350 with a 350 TH.
Thanks,
Mark

Gear oil is brown. There is no specific posi gear oil, just an additive. All rears take 90W.

Checked my posi rear end fluid level - it was fine as some seeped out when
the plug was removed. The color was a very dark brown - is this a normal
color for posi rear end lube. Everything else appears to work fine. May
be I am just used to standard gear lube being light colored.

Hey guys, what's the advantage of a posi over a regular one,
besides smoking both tires instead of just one?
Another question:
When headliners are installed do they have any stuffing behind them, or
are they just material
stretched across the roof?
