I guess I'll use lacquer thinner. I use it for
most everything else anyway. Didn't know
Thanks again guys. Based on these last
emails,Mike mentioned DX330. I did a google search on it and found a
website "Autobody101.com". It explained the differences as did Bill, with
much greater detail, aboutall these products. I see DX330 is a PPG
product.Bill, that was nice of you not to

Not to sound like a chemist, which I am not...but most cheap lacquer thinners are cheap because of the raw materials use to blend them together. Prep type thinners stay away from the oily type thinners (mineral spirits, VMP Naptha ect.) and also stay away from the real strong thinners that are
to Prepsol but never heard back
from them.
Thanks guys.

Jim, a good DX-330 or equal in a spray bottle will
last forever
. Think about all the effort it takes to get a car ready for
painting. Do you really want to do it twice?

Hey guys, I am on my way out to pick up some Prepsol so I can clean up my
front end parts for painting. I've read there are similar products that are
a lot cheaper. Anyone have any experience with these??
Thought I'd check first.
Thanks
Jim S.
I sprayed mine down with Brake Cleaner..Let it evaporate off and then used
some Eastwoods chassis black on mine...worked beautiful...no fisheyeing or
anything...
