I mounted mine on the firewall with the
rubber mounts.(right above the heater box)If you drill the right
size hole, they will screw in there and stay solid. Mine has been mounted
this way for 3 years.
But I think the wheel well would be ok too,
as long as you keep it high up on the wheel
John this is my $.02 worth... I know many have put MSD boxes under the hood of their cars and been fine, but I have personally done it on my daily driver and a few other cars and all 3 boxes failed within 2 years. I have seen 3 cars come into the shop with boxes under the hood and problems as

It says in the directions NOT to mount it in the glove box so I dispelled that option

I mounted my MSD 6AL box under the drivers seat. I had to lengthen the
wiring but it works fine. It just clears the bottom of the bucket
seat.My reason for doing this was to keep a stock look under the hood.
