That is ok. It has been a rough day today and I am sorry if I singled you
out. All is good, with everything that is going on around here then all my
yahoo mail has been bouncing. This has been happening at least 3 times a
week lately and it is driving me nuts!

I have no intention of breeding anything, but I am curious. If it is so
difficult to breed merles how is their health in general?

I agree with the opinion that it is safer to breed merle chis than to breed

Correction about the australian shepherd colors. They can be red merle, blue
merle, black, and red. I had put black tri and red tri. They actually can be
black and red tri (three colors) or bi (2 colors).

If you breed merle to merle, you can have small eyes, no eyes, and vision
problems. You should NEVER breed merle to merle. Other than that, breeding
merle to non-merle is as safe as breeding any two non-merles.
Does the merle gene have problems or were you just using this as an example?
No flaming just a question

I know a couple of life-long (literally) Chihuahua
breeders that flat out disagree with the AKC that merle is a natural

I am not a breeder. My info here is only from my personal opinion
and from what I have observed from looking at organization websites
and talking with breeders of different breeds.
