experts can use the RGB - 601 filter as they see fit.

Try adding the RGB - 601 filter to your video track(s). Configure

Hello,
Maybe some of you remember me posting a message on this mailinglist
around 2 months ago about converting 1080i HDV to 720p in a format that
Cinelerra can actually read. A few days ago I started messing around
again and I finally found a good way to do this with Mencoder:

directly instead?

But does this mean that it is impossible to convert 1080i HDV to 720p in
a format that Cinelerra understands?

to also change the frames-fields effects to correctly convert
between frames/fields as the default effects double (or half) the
vertical resolution for some reason.

Hello,
A few days ago I posted a message on this mailinglist about the
Cinelerra viewer that crashed. This problem is solved, but I still can't
use Cinelerra properly because of another problem.
I am running Cinelerra r1008 on Gentoo (amd64), I compiled with the
following options:
./configure
I was just fiddling around with the sound settings when I saw the button
:) I searched the mailinglists, couldn't find anything useful, but after
I found the solution I discovered that it was also mentioned in the manual.

Well, it seems that I have solved my problem. I'm using ALSA and the
solution was as simple as clicking the Stop playback locks up. button.

Hello,
I switched from Ubuntu 6.10 (i386) to Gentoo (amd64) a few weeks ago and
managed to compile revision 1008 succesfully with these ./configure
options:
./configure --prefix=/usr --with-buildinfo=svn/recompile --enable-mmx

I'm on 64 bit Gentoo and I had the exact same problem.I solved the
problem by installing (emerging on Gentoo) ffmpeg seperately and then
running ./configure with the --with-external-ffmpeg flag. I hope this
solves the problem for you.

What is the official way then?

It's not a big problem for me to make Debian packages every week/month
or so, it's only a matter of one simple checkinstall command. The only
problem is that I don't have a place to host the packages.

I've written a tutorial about compiling Cinelerra on 64-bit Ubuntu a
while ago, here it is: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=215252
It is written for Cinelerra 2.0, but I think it also works for 2.1.

Hello,
I compiled r872 today and decided to give the live video plugin a go.
First I switched on my Sony HDR-HC1, connected to the PC with a Firewire
cable. Then I started Cinelerra with sudo cinelerra because a normal
user doesn't have enough rights to use /dev/raw1394. In the Recording
tab
of things. They also showed some footage of Times
Square and you could read every numberplate or roadsign that was
visible. You have to see it for yourself, it just blows you away.

My father just bought two tickets for the exhibition on his way back
home from work. The ticket is for four days, so I will go there tomorrow
and maybe also on Sunday. My father said it was huge, can't wait to go
there tomorrow!
Maybe there should be a Cinelerra stand next year :)
Brosius,
How did you manage to compile r845? I get this error:
if g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../quicktime -I../guicast
-I../libmpeg3 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DHAVE_ALSA -DHAVE_OSS
-I/usr/include/mjpegtools -I/usr/include/mjpegtools/mpeg2enc
I tried to compile r836 of Cinelerra with the bluedottheme today, but it
doesn't work. It did work with the greenelerra theme. This is what I get:
g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../../guicast -I../../cinelerra
-I../../quicktime -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE
It's the International Broadcasting Convention, more info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Broadcasting_Convention
I would like to go there, I live in Holland, are tickets still available
and how much does it cost? And can normal people go there or is it only
press?
Brosius,
I would love to do that, but unfortunately I'm not a programmer :( BTW,
what language is Cinelerra written in, C, C++?

I'm sorry for this message. I'm using Pan to read the mailinglist via Gmane, I wanted to post to the test mailinglist but I accidentally posted to this mailinglist. I'm new to this mailinglist/gmane/newsgroup thing so I don't really know how it works yet. Sorry.
