Why can't I directly hook up a laptop to a 6509 switch port that enables stp portfast (using straight-thru cable)? I can't ping anything in the same subnet (as the port's VLAN's) and there's no ARP entry in either my laptop or in 6509. Any words will be appreciated. :) Bill
