The problem you are facing isn't osi layers. Its pinouts. The pinouts for 10/100 ethernet are 1,2,3,and 6. 1 and 2 are tx and 3 and 6 are rx on some devices such as switches, hubs, routers. and 3 and 6 are tx on other devices, like nics. you use a crossover cable to connect tx to rx. tell me if
