Dug through the archives and found very little on setting up Token Ring in a home lab.
I'm still confused. How is this done? Any good sites that I can go to find out this
information?
Among other equipment, I've got an SMC MAU, a Token Ring NIC installed in a PC, DB-9
to RJ45 media filter,
1.)Does anybody know where I can get a PLCC (Plastic leaded chip carrier) extraction
tool so I can replace the boot roms in some 2500's. Or is there another way of
removing them without damaging them?

Let's try this again. I sent this once but it didn't make it for some reason. I have
two questions. If anyone could answer them I would really appreciate it.

boot rooms in some 2500's. Where can I get one or
Go to the site www.brobeck.com. They represent Cisco and other "big names" in stuff
like this. Send an email to Michelle Falkoff. She's one of the lawyers who represent
Cisco.

I searched the archives but found nothing on router simulators. Just curious if anyone
has used them and if they're any good for CCNP preparation. I was out to the RouterSim
site and it's tempting to purchase because you're able to configure about four routers
and two switches. Any information
I agree. The last two questions I posted never showed up in the list.

I was lucky enough to get a Cisco 4000 and a 2501 from my brother-in-law to start up a
lab! Without having to dig through the archives, can someone give me a good source for
inexpensive Cisco cables? I want a source that explains the cables and what they're

I've been getting a lot of requests from people asking me to email them the materials

Took the CCDA exam today and passed! I only used two sources, Top Down Network Design
and study guides from www.ccxxproductions.bigstep.com. Study hard for this exam,
you'll need it! Lots of weird questions and three case studies. There were 72
questions and I had two hours to complete it.
Congrats, Rick! Do you, or anyone else, happen to know of a good router simulation
program?
