Load Balancing between two routers

2000-07-14 Thread peter . paul
I have three routers connected via token ring, A, B, & C. Routers B & C both have serial links to the same location. Can I configure router A to balance the traffic between routers R & C. Currently using static routes in A to send traffic to B only. Thanks! ___

Routing protocol in use on router A is OSPF. Routers B and C are not under my control, and while they too use OSPF, I would prefer to use static routes to the destination networks, as they have LARGE amounts of routing entries. The two serial links from B and C are both FR T1's. |+-

Well, then I guess my real question should have been on summarizing the routes coming into router A. Can you go into a little more detail on that? BTW, I don't have the 2nd router connected yet. I wanted to find out what would be involved firstso I can't tell you if the metrics are the sam

FTP Throughput slowing down

2000-09-08 Thread peter . paul
Can anyone explain why, when I do an FTP from one location over a Frame Relay link to another, it starts out with a good throughput, but after a few minutes, drops significantly, and the total bandwidth is not being exceeded. There are a few routers in-between that I have no control over. Thank

Actually, the one FTP server is within a "private" network. We have two companies that are connected via AT&T managed network. We're not doing any load control, nor is the other company, but I don't know what AT&T may be doing within the FR part... or their routers. |+--

You get that type of an error if you previously created that DLCI and then deleted it, but did not re-boot the router. Once you re-boot the router it should work. |+---> || [EMAIL PROTECTED]| || et.sa| ||

You should do bit-swapping because the routers will speak in non-canonical addressing. Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=70164&t=70154 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.
