Hi all,
I am trying to configure a router on a stick configuration - with 26xx
series router's e0/0 port connected to fa0/1 port of CAT3550.
Router's E0 port is configured like this
int e0/1
no shu
no ip address
int e0/1.1
encap isl 20
But isn't that what I said 2620 or better?

This is not true, you can do inter vlan routing with a 2620. See below
