port and their test set failed when in trunk mode. Very
odd.
Anyway, thanks again.
Aren't BPDU's normally part of STP's chatter?
I get errors like that when my MSTP instance settings are mismatched
between switches. Perhaps its a mix of issues.

side note for anyone with a SUP720 - you can't load an IOS
image over serial or TFTP with the ROMMON. For serial, its particularly
deceptive in that the command is there, but will fail every single time.
Yay Cisco!

changed RAM types it uses.
Have managed to fix 'broken' Sup720-3bxl boards that refuse to boot by
swapping them to the older RAM types, and suddenly they are happy.

Rancid did the same thing to our 7500 series with a RSP8 and RSP16 on
IOS 12.3 or 12.4 (forget which specifically). Never did track down why
it was doing that.

changed the coin cell that provides power to the nvram that is
on the Sup720? I believe its a BR1225, but I could be wrong.
Our Sup720-3bxl would lose its config settings on every power down -
replaced that battery and all went fine.
