You can hotwire the pump to test it's function. As I believe Fred indicated, to wires for the motor and to for the engage/disengage solenoid. Without power applied the drive is in "standby" and the arm should move in and out without much resistance. When the solenoid is engaged the drive should

John, Cool.  We did the same thing except my "loop" doesn't run wide but can fall into the companion way if I don't have it looped over the binnacle.  The approach that we are using is fantastic and I recommend it to everyone I give a tour to.  Neil Get Outlook for iOS

Graham: I changed the original main sheet setup on my boat to be able to trim the main from behind the binnacle. I don't have a picture but am going to the boat this pm and will take some. The original setup required the the main sheet to be cleated on the port side cabin top.not conven
