My C&C 30 Owner's Manual says "DO NOT expose a spar wrapped in plastic to
direct sunlight." Does anyone know the rationale for this precaution? Was the
worry that a brand-new spar for a brand-new C&C boat might be wrapped in thin
plastic film that would melt in direct sunlight or some
She is just sitting there without a boom, like a wounded bird. Who leaves a
boat like that? I wish I could rescue her.
OK, no boom, and probably nothing else much. If that's a genuine C&C 30
hull, what will it take to fix/build that boat?

Earlier this year I had a phone call with Gert Tiel, when I was trying to
figure out how to get my exterior handrails off (turns out a screw head was
covered by a piece of bulkhead trim, among other issues). I own C&
Parts of the Mylar will peel off like masking tape. Other parts may require a
curved Exacto model knife to remove the tape. Try Goo Be Gone or 97% rubbing
alcohol from the drug store to get the sticky parts off. If all else fails,
Acetone, used carefully, will get it off.

custom wood shop. Actually, we had 3. One at NOTL, one in Newport and one at
the custom shop in Oakville. Not sure if the plant in Keil, Germany had one or

eraser that you put in a drill.
