Just replaced mine last week yanmar 3gm30. Clean off the spline and put fresh grease on it slide it into the engine. Mine had 6 bolts tighten them up in an opposing  pattern. Reconnect everything as it was.                             Gary.   "Liberty"

Bruce, They use non-tinned non-marine grade wire in lots of boats. I don't know why the ground tends to corrode first. Make sure you are cutting off enough wire to get to wire that is not garbage. Don't buy connectors at an automotive store. Speaker wire is likely garbage from end to end. You
