it seems the topic of garboard drains came up quite extensively 3-4 years
ago. I would like to find that thread but when I go to "Archives" in
CNCPhotoalbum there is no search field. Do I have to click on the "thread"
of every month of every year to search for this? Tell me there is a better
Yep, was at 3/4 full. I’m pretty sure it was crud picked up by pickup in tank.
Kinda hard to get at now, but I’ll sort it out when I haul in in a month or so.
Meanwhile, I’ll happily avoid anymore voyages like we had!

Graham,
Just so you know (not the list) I am not looking to buy oneI have a
beautiful one made by North...even a collar that goes around the rolled
furled headsailI don't use it often and a I mentioned it yesterday
to a club member ...I gave him a 3/8" X 19" belt for his broken water
For sailing shorthanded or alone, it is worth it's weight in gold! I
was out by myself today flying our gennaker.
(it was in the inventory when we bought the boat so I don't have a $$
figure for you. It was made by North - Lunenburg loft.)

IMHO a fuel pressure gauge you can see from the helm is a HUGE help in
finding problems and getting some advanced warning.

Another benefit to the squeeze bulb is that if the tank pick up line gets
plugged with gunk, the bulb will collapse under the vacuum created.
By blowing into the line you can usually clear the blockage. Yum!

For sail, you need to ask around (the vendors). The ATN sock is $13.5/ft. (of
course USD).

Rob,
That would depend on the weight of the cloth used, and whether it was made by a
high-end sailmaker like North and UK, or some imported (Chinese) sailmaker
outfit.
Could be $5,000. Could be $1,000.
All the best,
Edd

Anyone know what a new asymmetrical spin in a sock for a C 32 is worth?

If ya got that kind of gunk the only real way to get rid of of it is to remove
it and clean it proper. I took boiling vinegar and rinse and shook it twice
Then rinsed and dried. No gunk
Polishing is a waste of money (or so I read).

Our 30’ mk1 was repowered with diesel and the tank is translucent plastic at
this point if that helps anyone with anything.

HI Don
We replaced our tank with military grade aluminum custom made by Luther Welding
in Bristol RI. http://www.lutherswelding.com/Old one was original to boat,
was not leaking but did it due to its age (32 years) so it was only a matter of
time. Old tank came out of lazarette – very
