I was also looking into this recently. I found on-line a place called Teak
Concepts, which appears to also go by the name Cruising Concepts. I filled out
the web inquiry form, but did not get a response. That was about 2 weeks ago.

I used Pettit zinc spray and found it did little to stop barnacle growth
after a year. Last haul out I reapplied the zinc spray after sanding down
to bronze (Campbell Sailor fixed 3 blade), and then brushed two coats of
Pettit Horizons ablative paint, but I won't know if this is better until

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Stus-List Cockpit Floor Grating for a 34
Hello al
Hello all,
I'm thinking about adding a teak (or trex) cockpit grating to my 1981 C&C 34.
Does anyone know where I could find a kit for assembly that would fit the
contours of the cockpit? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have tried them all and been unimpressed with the results on my Maxprop. I
tried the Pettit Zinc barrier coat spray many years ago and did not find it
very effective. Tried lanolin and the same. Tried bottom paint with primer
and it did not adhere. Did Propspeed one year and it was good, b
Hey Dwight,
Petit's Barnacle Barrier paint for prop and shaft. I use it, but still got
barnacles in the salt water of New Jersey. I get less barnacles in Chesapeake
Bay, but it's not perfect. It's standard procedure at my boatyard to spray
props and shafts with this material.

Dwight,
You can get spray zinc primer at CDN TireI have one, used it
onceit seemed to work but since I use my boat often, I don't use it
on the prop shaft and propdon't see the need.

Petit sells one. Probably more expensive but effective too.

Thanks. Is that the one that works. I had a ton of little white barnacle on
my prop and prop shat at haul out. I don’t think the prop would have driven
the boat. I had to get a tow to the marina for hail out because of another
reason ( did not get my wet exhaust fixed in time) so I don’t know for s
I tried it and had no luck, barnacles galore ☹
I am not sure if the paint doesn’t work or if it came off the prop.
