2001 and
2017. The nonskid held up fine. It was the faded cabin top and accumulated
nicks and scratches that bothered me.

Ron,
Yes, it would have been Esta Es at Mackinaw in 1997.
and slow but doable. I
had to replace the entire rubrail due to damage and botched repairs of PO(s).
Bought new rubrail from Southshore which has held up fine over 20 yrs.

Rob,
Incredibly we had 2 43’s in Marion at the same time. “X Dimension” owned by
Dave Collins
behind the ‘windshield’ becomes added space for storing whatever.
There are cutouts for the halyards which lead aft to the cabintop winches. I
will send you photos.

I applied Awlgrip to my topsides and deck in 2001. The ‘vivid red’ on the
topsides is fading but polishes up well in the Spring. I have had to repaint
the transom on my 29 Mk1 twice since then and I repainted the deck (offwhite)
in 2017.

Check the packing nut gland on the propeller shaft stuffing box. It may just
need to be tightened. Tighten to where it just stops dripping or you see a slow
drip while shaft turning. Too tight and you could score the shaft. This is
usually my post splash surprise.

I've found that plain old turpentine or paint thinner works well too.

I also have used Rigging Only for my lifelines, halyards and sheets. Very

If it's not too late I can help you. I live in St. Joseph and have owned a 29
MkI for twenty three years. Working on the second restoration and will be
painting the deck this Spring if it ever stops raining.
