Hey Rick,
I just got the prop re-pitched and the boat launched.

I disassembled my prop yesterday with the intention of adding pitch. I had
forgotten the setting at which I had left it but found the documentation
Chuck,
Here is the info from the POs documentation that I found on my MaxProp:
16" 2-blade classic 1 1/8" shaft
Universal M35 trans 2:1
Right Rotation 16 degrees
My boat is a centerboard and with the board up and a clean bottom I get
6kts at 2200RPMs.

Chuck, I have the same combination. My notes are on the boat. Next time I am
checking the boat I will look it up. I doubt you are in a rush to do that job
at -12.

Thanks everyone for
Hi Chuck,
I had a similar situation with my old cruising
cutter with a Gori folding prop. At expected RPM
the cruising speed was ugly and the engine
chugged along like there was no load. Even worse,
in a marina I learn to go full speed in reverse just to get a wee bite.
In my investigation
I believe PYI keeps a data base of most boat/motor combinations and can
advise you on what setting to use. Give them a shout see what they
recommend.

Chuck,
I have the original M35 and a MaxProp classic 2-blade. I get 6.2 knots
in calm water at 2200rpms. I'll look through my documents this week when
I visit the boat and see if the pitch is mentioned. I'm replacing the
cutlass bearing next month, so will check then when it is on the hard.
I have the same prop but a Yanmar 35. Deep keel. Sounds very close to the
same performance. I was looking to do the same tweaking on my next haul out.
Looking forward to other opinions on the subject.
I do love the difference under sail though compared to the fixed prop that was
on the boat
Chuck,
It was -6 (F) here in sunny SW Michigan this morning. No need to go all
the way to God's Country for cold.

Any 37+ owners have this combination of prop and engine, and happen to know
the correct pitch for the MaxProp pr
Daryl, Our boat is an 89 37+ with a universal diesel. It came with a 2 blade
max prop, less drag, totally adjustable and full power in reverse because it
articulates. Maybe call the salvage yards in Florida if your are heading south?
They should have a selection of used props when you figure out
Ron, This thread is interesting in that most of you are in salt water, I am in
fresh. I have the universal M35 with a 2 blade max prop and at 2500 RPMs I get
6.8 knots (GPS) with VC17 bottom paint. The max prop is adjustable and there
are lots of other variables. Cheers,
