Wow. I just had to remove some adhesive around my windows, Plexus I think, and found a heat gun and a sharp chisel worked best. Problem is, you need to get the glue up to 150 degrees Celsius, or 300 degrees F. It's scary hot. bath water is 100, boiling water 212 and paper catches fire at 45

I don't have a similar model but I assume there are no tabs or blocking from the locker to the hull keeping it fixed. An adhesive might have been used under the flange which might make it difficult to impossible to remove. Too much force might crack the locker but it should take significant loads i

I can't help with the removal question, but one suggesting for reducing rust on the bottom of the tanks: I cut lengths of rubber hose (fuel line or similar) length wise and slid over the metal bottom rim of the tanks (after painting them with 3 coats of Tremclad), which should hopefully reduce the
