I use a First Alert GC01
Plug it in at home during the off season, move it down to the boat in the
summer.
CO2, Methane, Propane.
When away from the dock it runs on 9V Battery

of time, a CO detector is an absolute must (regardless of insurance

We had to add the CO detectors and we also added a smoke alarm.
This was all driven by Insurance requirements :-)

Propane is heavier than airso if you do get a leak, it will form a
nice shaped charge in the bottom of your boat.
The ocean doesn't move that much.

Going through this as well. Your surveyor and insurance company will likely
recommend a gas detector and a solenoid switch.
