Rob Raker and I paid a visit to the Red Rocks Trading post this
morning. We arrived at about 7:15 a.m. and spent the next hour
watching and observing all the birds coming to the feeders. Our
bonanza took place between 7:45 and 8:00 at the west side feeders. We
had the Golden-crowned
My apologies, folks. The bird we saw and that I reported at Red Rocks
this morning was definitely a juvenile Red-naped Sapsucker. Sorry for
the error and confusion. I will do a better job of proofreading down
the road.

Beautiful crisp day with the full array of the usual winter birds here in NW CO
Spgs, but with the addition of a pair of evening grosbeaks and a single
1st-winter white-throated sparrow. Got pics of both, but haven't uploaded from
the camera yet...

An albino house finch showed up with a flock of 15 today when it was snowing.

albinos common in this species?
We are in Longmont, Pleasant Valley subdivison near the Ute Creek Golf Course.

On Monday and Tuesday morning of this week, there was a very dark Red
Tailed Hawk on a pole along Highway 52 just west of County road 23.
Since I was driving to a job, and because of traffic, I could not
stop. On the way back yesterday afternoon, I was looking for it, and

spot a pair of Bierlings.
At the reservoir:
Nothing of note
Rufous Red-tail morph
We looked for the Dipper but dipped on it.
