Hello, Birders.
A bit to my surprise, I noticed this morning, Monday, May 2nd, that the Palm
Warbler is still hanging on at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County. I first
recorded this bird back on the morning of the Great Boulder Fallout,
Thursday, April 21st. It's in the same place, in that
Yesterday, a group of us hiked up Skunk Canyon to the Mesa Trail, which can
be accessed from the end of Kohler Drive in the Table Mesa area of SW
Boulder.
The warbler was active and near the trailhead. Both kinglets were singing
frequently and we saw them at the beginning and near the top at the
Randy Lentz just called me. About one hour ago he watched a
Tricolored Heron walk/hop up Plum Creek (in the creek bed) from the
Plum Creek delta. He then walked over to the foot bridge and walked

Greetings All,
Thanks to Brandon for an excellent summary of our Big Day. I apologize to my
companions for being the slug and slowing us down.
There were a couple other highlights, mostly from 1 May:
On 1 May, there was a Nashville Warbler (western type) and an AT Flycatcher at
Lamar CC.
I drove by a pond at South 47th Avenue and 37th Street in Evans and saw a
couple of mute swans, about 10 snowy egrets, a couple of great egrets, and a
number of western grebes and one clarks grebe.
The day before, at Fossil Creek Reservour, on the far west end, I saw a
number of avocets, Wilsons

My parents have had an adult summer Harris's Sparrow visiting their yard for
about 2 weeks in La Jara (Conejos County). I saw it and heard it whistling
today. I just checked the county list and saw that it is not on the list.

Just had a white-winged dove under my feeder on Lac Amora Park. It was
pecking around for a while, and then the other birds (eco-dove, grackle)
began harrying it. Last I saw it was in my neighbor's tree at the south end
of the park.

them mated and got on with life.
Not much more to report.

Deb Carstenson and I went dashing down to Neenoshe reservoir hoping to see some
