Usually one would not think that Brown Thrasher, MacGillivray's Warbler and
Green-tailed Towhee had much in common but yesterday I saw all three in my
yard in Canon City within a 10 minute period. I first spotted the Brown
Thrasher on the ground between my feeders and the water tray I put out.
Besides the cool birds I found in my yard, there were a lot of nice birds on

Catbirds are back (usually resident but I didn't see any this winter). I
saw several MacGillivray's Warblers plus several Wilson's Warblers. I

and perched high for about a half an hour, giving us great looks, song and
photo ops.
Upon studying the pictures I took, it is apparent

the road leading into the firing range of the Gun Club, Two Cock Pheasants
also flew across the road close to firing.

HI, folks,
Sudden fallout of sparrows in our backyard; mixed flock of hundreds. I'd
guess about 300 in the wink of an eye, mostly white-crowned, Brewer's,
chipping.
Gregory Canyon was gloomy but interesting this morning, with all usual
suspects (including my FOY plumbeous vireo, black-headed

Hello all
I was able to view the Scissor-tailed flycatcher at 1:05 pm . I finally found
it on the fence on the south-west side of the lake at the southern end of the
lake. Last seen moving along the southern fence heading back east. Thanks to
everyone for reporting this bird.

On this very cold, gray, almost but not quite rainy, birdy Saturday, we had the

Thanks to Andy Doll, DMNS Ornithology Fellow, for his help banding, and the
great crew of volunteers who got birds out of the nets while

Thirty-two people participated in the 21st annual Fountain Creek Regional Park

This morning three of us birded Cottonwood Marsh and the ponds along the

Todd Deininger and I headed out east along I-70 and returned to the Denver area
along US-36 today, a cold and wet May day. We started birding at Flagler, then
Burlington; up to Bonny and then home through Last Chance.
Flagler was a great morning walk but without many rarities. In Burlington
It was a cold, windy, drizzly day but enduring this for seven hours paid
off. We saw eight species of warblers around Lake Estes. In addition to our

Today we did our monthly bird walk at Barr Lake. There were NO Western

tunnel of trees)
