While returning from atlasing in Logan County, Joe Roller discovered three
Black Terns foraging over a modest pond on the west side of Rt 113 north of
Logan County Rd 56.
The terns were not seen at the pond earlier in the day and there is no
assurance that they were in residence.

I have uploaded new images of my website of Ptarmigan and American Dipper.
The Ptarmigan were taken at Mt. Evans. I saw a pairs and 2 individuals. The
pair and 1 individual were at mile marker 5 on each side of the road. The
other individual was also just off the road halfway between Summit Lake an
About a week ago, my friend Kriss Koff and I went up to Pawnee Grasslands.
Nothing out of the ordinary but we saw some interesting behavior. We were on
the bird trail dirt road [which has all the signs and numbers]. We saw a

JB Hayes and I observed the Cassin's Sparrow at Chatfield this afternoon. I

Hi all!
The Tree Swallow females I recaptured in birdboxes this week (in SOS 17 and
SOS 19A) were already wearing bands :)
In SOS 17, bird #2311-50823 was initally banded 6/ 4/2010 as an After Second

Birders,
Last evening Mark Chavez and I met up to look for the mountain plover as
light was running out. In the last bit of light we spotted the plover in
the 2 track.
It flew a little north towards the fence and dropped into the grass.
It was too dark to see anything more after that.

COBirders,
Late this evening I watched a tern flying around the north and west end of Big
Johnson reservoir. I watched it until it was too dark to see it anymore in
