I finally walked the huge wind break at Wellington SWA on LCR 64
about .25m east of Frontage Road on east side of I25 this morning on
commute to work. The wind break is about half-mile long, has very
mature trees and you can walk both sides and within it most places.

I observed the Lesser Black-backed Gull (adult) today about 75' from
shore on the edge of the ice shelf. Since my last post about this
Gull on 1/5/12 I have observed the Gull on 11 separate occasions at
this location. In addition there was an adult Herring Gull and 3rd
cycle
Cherry Creek Reservoir:
Glaucous Gull (1st cycle)
Thayer's Gull (2 adults)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (2nd cycle)
Anthem Pond:
Mew Gull (adult)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (2 adults)
Thayer's Gull (several adult and 1st cycle birds, 1 was very pale)
California Gull (adult)
Siena Pond:

Five birders in four cars drove county roads east of Pueblo this morning,
looking for Snowy Owls and other raptors and other birds. We didn't see any
Snowy Owls, though two Peregrine Falcons (Leon Bright and I both saw one,
different birds), Merlin, Bald and Golden Eagles, Ferruginous Hawks
Seems to have been a nice influx of gulls to northern Colorado. I heard from
others that good numbers of loafing/staging gulls were at Horseshoe and
Loveland Lakes in Loveland this afternoon, and that they flew off towards the
southwest at the end of the day. I joined Cole Wild at dusk to check
