Greetings Cobirders,
I forget who was working on an article for the CFO magazine on leucism
unfortunately, but apparently my cobirds post on 5/10 did not get through
due to my two photos being too large for google groups (even tho' I deleted
1 or 2 and went with smaller versions of the 2 left).
Today brought a slightly more normal mix of birds, although still fewer
birds and later in the season than expected. 18 new birds today:
House Wren 3
Gray Catbird 3
Yellow Warbler 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Spotted Towhee 1
Song Sparrow 2
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Hi all,
There’s currently an adult Little Blue Heron being seen at the Anthem Ranch
Ponds in north Broomfield. It’s at a set of ponds SW of the intersection of
Lowell and Highway 7, foraging in a outflow west of the large footbridge.
There’s also a parking lot along the west side of Lowell,
All,
Once I recover I'll get a blog post written, but I was guilted into finally
pulling the trigger and riding to First Creek at Green Valley Ranch (Denver
Co) by Thomas Heinrich. His ride from Boulder last week for the
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron was quite a bit longer than mine, but 31 miles
Hey COBirders,
“Birdcast” forecast a “medium” intensity migration event last night for

23 birds banded today, with good diversity. A small wave of mixed warblers went

There was a Tennessee warbler yesterday at Twin Lakes, along the trail a little
east of the tree where great horned owls nested for several years. Mark
Holmgren and I got good views of it, and he posted pictures on the eBird list.
Sorry for the late post. I went back early this morning and
CObirders,
About 6:30 am back by Boulder Creek, there was a Tennessee Warbler singing
high in the cottonwoods!! It was with a small flock of Yellow-rumped
Warblers. Its sharp, staccato song was instantly recognizable. Just to be
certain, I asked my friend Karen Axe to play the song quietly on
