Hey all,
Matt Baker spotted an American Golden Plover at Sloans Lake, north shore,
near Xavier and Byron around noon today. Several folks (include myself and
Eric Dinkel) got great looks. Eric has photos.
Other rare birds: greater yellowlegs, pectoral sandpiper.
Thanks, Peter

On a quick lunch run to Sloans Lake, the storm fallout was impressive. I
saw a Marbled Godwit and a Stilt Sandpiper. Several more sandpipers as
well, including a Least, and potentially a Pectoral (need to check my
pictures).
Non-rarities, but still of interest: a big group of yellow-headed
I re-found the yellow-throated vireo again this morning (Thurs May 21) at
about 7am. It was in the gully south of the pond and then in the trees
just west of the gully.
It vocalized for a bit, and that was how I tracked it down, if that helps
others planning to chase it.
I'll post an e-bird l
Hey all,
I chased the Tennessee Warbler this morning at 7:45am at Vanderbilt Park.
I found a warbler fitting the description in a group with yellow rumps at
the southwest corner of the pond: distinct eye line, olive-ish tending to
green. But I am not good at all with warblers, and had I not b

Refound again this morning (Sat Jan 5) at 10am. Same tree as described by
Ira (you'll see two white trash cans near that tree as another landmark).

Hey all,
I saw a snow goose while driving north on Ward Road at 48th this morning
about 9:30am. It was mixed in with a flock of about 20 Canadian geese. I
believe there may also have been a second one, a juvenile, in the group as
well. The flock was on the east side of Ward, between 48th and
I had no luck finding the BTBW this morning around 8:30am. I looked all
along the trap for about 20 minutes from the Broadway bridge to 28th St
underpass. One other birder was looking as well. We both lamented that
we're probably a day or two too late.
Lots of birds, though! A couple Spott
Hi all,
I regularly ride the stretch of the Platte River from REI to the Downtown
Aquarium, right by Elitch's. The past few weeks, I've seen plenty of
Killdeer on the sand banks, sometimes up to a dozen of them. Last Friday I
saw a Black Crowned Night Heron perched in the falls at the conflue
