Dan,
Thank you for explaining the the bird most likely is, indeed, bothered by
us birders. I was quite surprised at how close people (myself included)
could get to the bird without seemingly bothering it.
I appreciate the education.

Thanks for the reminder, John. I believe a couple of Colorado Audubon
groups are working to educate others on this issue.

Years ago at Mueller State Park (El Paso County), a Dusky Grouse kept
running up to a friend of mine and jumping up and down. It would retreat
and then come back again, and jump up and down.
Oddly, it ignored the other 3 of us.

Marie,
Thank you for including that information, and for responding so quickly.
In addition, FCRP is one of only two locations in El Paso County given the
designation of *Important Bird Area* by the National Audubon Society.

Also, please bring your own lunch, water and snacks.
If you value this property, and the birds who frequent it, please come if
you are able. Your help is desperately needed.

A Black-and-white Warbler was spotted at Bear Creek Regional Park in Colo
Springs at 2:30 this afternoon. It was walking up a slender tree trunk, and
was in amongst a group of Audubon's Yellow-rumps. Seen on the north side of
the creek, just north of the Community Gardens parking lot.
