I had the Gyr just south of that site (in Pineridge Natural Area) January 20,
roughly 4:30 in the afternoon. It was perched briefly on one of the large power
poles before flying west toward Horsetooth Reservoir. In subsequent searching,
I haven’t seen it again.

Hi all
Gyrfalcon (Fort Collins Landfill) on favorite tower (southside of dump,
west of Taft Ave; third pole) at 1230. I have seen gyr same pole now 3x in
the 1100-1300 window and once 0830-0930 last 30-40 days.

I just had the Gyrfalcon sitting on the second to last utility pole on the
south side of Trilby but just east of Taft. I drove across the intersection to
park and see if I could get a pic but the bird flew south. I tried to beat him
to the Coyote Ridge parking lot but I never got back on
The Gyrfalcon was present this morning along Trilby Rd., west of Taft Hill.
When I arrived at 10:40, it was perched atop an insulator on the crossbar of
one of the shorter (wooden) powerpoles, directly north of the larger steel
tower #13 and about 30 m off the road. About 5 min. later, a magpi
Bird was along Trilby Rd., southwest of Fort Collins as previously
described. It was there when I arrived at about 8:40 and it left towards
the buffet, er...landfill, within 10 min.

At 9:30 this morning, the Gyrfalcon was again on top of one of the metal
power poles just west of Taft Hill Road. It stayed there long enough for me
to get my scope out and on the bird. I watched it for 3-4 minutes, calling
Dave Leatherman in the meantime. At 9:35 it flew southeast across Taft H

flying off to the west to chase some Rock Pigeons and then flying northeast

The Gyrfalcon had a fly by today at 11:20. It flew from the dump south across
Trilby Rd. It landed somewhere before the next ridge.

I just had the Gyrfalcon on Trilby Rd. By the landfill. It flew in to the top
of one of the tall power poles & then chased some crows to the south where I
lost sight of it.

A gyrfalcon was seen soaring over west central Fort Collins about 2 pm, near
the cemetery. It was very light with definitive black wing tips. Seen by two
people, no pictures.
