Same thing here: toshiba satellite with GMA965, even installing the compiz-fusion-plugins-extra package with the Burn animation, my favourite for open/close, which worked in natty, I don't have it working anymore under oneiric (installed from scratch), and I disabled the fading windows effects

Update: just happened, tried to kill all *screensaver* processed under tty1 but all I got was that ctrl-alt-f7 brought me to the unactive graphic fullscreen terminal, I managed in the end to ctrl-alt-bksp since the mouse pointer appeared after a while. -- You received this bug notification
