Of course, this is an absurd way to run an auction. No RL auction
would ever take that $51 bid without asking for more. Seems like there
should be a simple way to solve the problem via software, such as
extending an auction if a bid is received within the last x seconds.

I think what you're missing is this: snipers would useless if everyone bid
their maximum, but a lot of people don't. They just enter a bid that's a
little higher than the current bid and come back later if they're outbid.

Because when you enter a bid, anyone can manually outbid you, as long as he
has time. The earlier you do it, the more time people have to

Try Hammer snipe.
What sniping does is make it possible to do a last second bid to a
higher amount without sitting there and watching the auction.
I use it when I know I might not be available when the auction is
coming to a close.
There have been quite a few auctions I have lost when a bid

I can't answer that, but I do have a questions that I think others on the
list may be asking too...
Can you tell us why eSniping is even necessary. Doesn't eBay provide all
the facilities you need to complete a successful bid? I have bo

i have used eSnipe for a couple three years. about 6 months ago, i started to

"eBay Username or Password Problem
eBay reports that the password or username you provided is not valid. It is too
