The cooker rpm for WebMaker-0.8.5 puts the docs in /usr/share/doc, but the
program expects to find them in /usr/doc.

Dude, you are mistaken. A V1(Blech!) has no 2D support. It's a 3D (quite
slow nowadays, too) only solution. A V2 has no 2D support either. You
could use it for Glide (ha!) support. However, you're not going to use it
in a 2D dual-head capacity. Your Ultra TNT2 will blow either one of these

Hi,
I am reporting a success with XFree86-4.0/TNT2. The only problems I
noticed might be because I am still running mdk6.1. One thing I am
asking is, where is the driver called "glide", which allows X to run on
a Voodoo or Voodoo2 board ? I've read about it on XFree86.org, but
can't find it anywh
Well, looks as if supermount ain't going to work for me. As such, need the old
"floppy mount" program for the kde desktop. It was in the 6.0 version and had
more menus rather than just an entry for the "/mnt/fd0". One could specify
the mount location, filesystem type, etc. instead of having to

I'm having trouble installing cooker. I now get "ERROR LBA" when
booting.
Award BIOS 1997 w/ 8.4G HD.
Separate /boot partition just after 3gig FAT32
I tried the "no LBA" switch and same result.
Any ideas? I've not had problems with Mandrake before.
Thanks

When doing a remote X session (per clipping below), kde/kfm will crash
and display desktop icons on the computer desktop that was used to log
in remotely. To resolve, log-out and log back in to kde to clear the
desktop of all the icons.
Here's a clipping of the command window on "what i do to lo

Am i correct on this? The one stipulation is that the drive does NEED
to have a disk in it at "startup time" of the mdk o/s, or else it will
return an error during the hdd optimization script. (W

My X system is totally screwed up and trying
the 'XF86Config' from the command line did not

Hi,
I sure there is probably an easy solution to this but I can't find it.
How do you allow users to have read/write access to mounted Windows partitions?
I can read/write as root, but not as any of the users. Thanks alot for your
help.

You need if the package contains device nodes. You cannot create them
as a user... This is only since 2.2 though, and I wonder why...

Hi all,
There are a couple of miss-linked libraries in the contrib RPMS for
XFree86 4.0:
libXmu.so is linked to libXmu.so.6.0 instead of libXmu.so.6.1 (6.0
doesn't exist).
libXext.so is linked to libXext.so.6.3 instead of libXext.so.6.4 (6.3
doesn't exist).

Hi
After installing the latest OSS driver for Mandrake 7 and entering
my licence data/key, I noticed that the driver works only if there
is a CD in the CDROM drive. This does not disturb me because the
sound quality more than compensates for a little 'GOTCHA' but it is
curious. I suspect supermo
