One thing that seems to halt the installation dead in it's track is
theinclusion of more than one Windows ( FAT or NTFS ) file
system. My system has 3 Windows file systems ( NTFS, FAT, NTFS for
VMWare ) and I could not
dam I hate it when I forget things like that .. switched to 32bit and it
worked.

Also notice when running Netscape the frame or skin, what ever you want
to call it, has no colour. It is sort of like black and white. The
icons are the same way.

This may have been fixed, but I just installed hydrogen from the iso. Problems:
In XFree 4.0, the mouse pointer is invisible. I'm running it with a matrox
millineum G200, 8 MB RAM, Voodoo II, with a logitech firstmouse+ PS/2, SMP
kernel on a dual celeron Abit BP-6.

i can't get any sound...
in kde control center it says no info available - and in HardDrake it detects
it, says Creative Labs SB Live! under Soundcard, but when i click Run

last few days. It appears that a mirror site has a corrupt version of the
/lib/modules.cz file.
If you are having IDE drive problems please try grabbing a new copy of the
modules.cz file, it solved my install problem here.

Found another minor thing; when I had the default theme for kde
installed, numlock stayed on in X. When I changed themes, somehow
something broke. Now when I boot into X, numlock comes on (the link is

I just installed 7.1b and I'm really impressed! Most everything works
great on both machines that installed, just a few minor things to iron
out.
1. I wasn't able to dial out with kppp as user until I first SUID on
kppp. I don't know if this was the proper thing to do, but it work
on boot up of the system (this bug has been around since 7.0b) the
system says
"FAILED" retrying in background" even though it connects fine and
everything is fucntion normaly for the conection.. I tested this on the
console, and found the ./ifup ppp0 dose not display this message, but if
I do ./
