Untar it
./configure --prefix=/usr
Now kdf is installed in /usr/bin as I imagine it would be if they'd
included it. (And until then there's always df in a console.)

Try a couple things.
a) Is it really powering down? Try Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to see if it's just X
locking up, I've had this problem on one of my laptops.
b) Try disabling apmd and see if it goes away via:
chkconfig apmd off
/etc/init.d/apmd stop

I just upgraded a lot of packages using MandrakeUpdate, and suddenly a lot of
applications report this:
error while loading shared libraries: libdb.so.2: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
and fails to run. What am I missing and what do I do? I have a feeling it
Actually you have to install 3.0.5-9 first, it will allow you to install 4.0
I did have the same problem.

First, I can't find out which package provides rpmlib dependencies. I
download all of the rpm-*4* packages I could find.
Also, I installed glibc-2.1.3, but then nothing worked. I installed the
