There is a seperate package db1 that has that file now. It keeps it in /usr/lib. I'd check to see if you have that package installed. Also let me recommend the README in unstableMandrake directory on kde.org. It shows you the proper order on loading the KDE 2.1 packages without having

I had similar problems, including a kernel oops when mkinitrd went to mount the loopback device. The problem appears to be in the kernel source packaging - when I downloaded the "reference" kernel source from kernel.org and recompile all was well - but then, I customize the heck out of my kernels.
