Rebuilding the rpm db doesn't help.
I persist.
rpmdrake relies on urpmq
I only wish they could fix the hanging on exit thing too..., the
shopt -s
huponexit does not allways work. Since this seems to be a
bash/openssh
related problem only I think I will try to use ash for a while and see
if
it
disappears.
I wonder if z shell ever hang on exit? (Andrej?)
I'll try to clarify.
your clarification is no more clear than original description.
lets say we have versions A and B of a package. A is the old version,
B
the
new one.
What is old and what is new? You have installed packages and available
packages not old and new.
urpmq replies that
urpmq NEVER reports installed packages. It ALWAYS reports available
packages.
My mistake.
I know see it more clearly.
I just checked, and in fact, my packages are not installed.
Example :
$rpm -q gedit
gedit-1.199.0-1mdk
$urpmq -m -r gedit
gedit-2.0.0-1mdk
$gedit --version
I have kde3 running our of .kde instead of .kde3 but everytime i
install
or
uninstall something it doesn't come out of my menu..but it
modifies
the
menu entries under .kde3/share/applnk-mdk
/etc/menu-methods/kde3:
rootprefix=/usr/share/applnk-mdk
userprefix=.kde3/share/applnk-mdk
I had a crash at some time.
Since then, I have installed packages that appears as not installed.
And what after rpm --rebuilddb?

If I want to install them, they pollute my (and your) bandwidth for
finally
telling me that they are already installed.
Every time I refresh the
cd /mnt/cdrom2
[root@dhcp-342-187 cdrom2]# ls
ls: .: Stale NFS file handle
Fix has been sent to Juan. It is one line change. If anybody is
interested I can post patch here.

Is it worth to be included?

Anybody had success using them in overlay? In which case I am interested
in details (video card, resolution, color depth etc). I vaguely recall
that not every possible resolution/color depth works but am too lazy to
try 'em all :-)
