Actually, I was able to finally get the java 1.4.0 plugin to work with
mozilla 1.0rc2 . I'm using the 8.2 builds from
http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/mozilla/ and was
getting constant crashes whenever I would go to a page that had java.
Apparently, all you have to do is to
It did not work for me, but I'm not sure what was the original cause.
At some point between the 8.2 beta's and the final release I upgraded
my hardware, so it could be that I installed 8.2 with a soundblaster
live and then swapped the hardware to the epox board.
Also, I did make a custom ke
I have an Epox 8KHA+ motherboard and I got sound working. I'm not at
the pc now, so I can't look at the config, but there was an article on
MandrakeForum on getting it to work which worked for me:

Hi,
Just thought I'd drop a note about some bugs in KDE3 from cooker/contribs.
It's installed on two different machines and it very well could be a kde
problem and not a packaging problem.
Basically, if you select multiple files in Konqueror and try to move or copy
to a directory that alr
I'll try disabling DRI, but how do you disable v4l and also how do you
use the synthesis file?
Thanks

hi,
I've been keeping up to date with cooker over the past three weeks or so
on two different machine and there is a problem I'm having that I cannot
figure out how to fix. I have an Athlon XP1700+, 256Mb ram, 3Dfx Voodoo

At home my ide cd burner is not set up by default. I have to insmod sg
and sr_mod and then cdrecord -scanbus will find it. I haven't done much
digging on the problem lately because of time.

Getting urpmi to work through an http proxy is rather easy, once you
know how to do it :) This only works using wget, not curl.
either edit the /etc/wgetrc file or create a $HOME/.wgetrc file and put
the following lines in it:
http_proxy = proxyaddress:port
use_proxy = on
proxy_user = userid
I rather thought it odd when I did it because I too had read about the

I actually rebuilt the freetype2-2.0.6 source rpm with the bytecode
interpreter enabled and found that the fonts look worse. I don't have a

Alas, I downloaded it a week or so ago and during some cooker update
this week it has stopped working right. I did an upgrade of 8.1 to
8.2b3 and everything was working okay until... oh, two days ago.
Suddenly it wouldn't load, giving an error about libpng versions. I

I recently discovered some file corruption problems with Reiserfs. For
some reason VMWare would hard lock my machine occasionally. This
happened recently and I rebooted, reiserfsck ran and played the journal
but X and KDE would randomly crash and eventually the pc would lock up.
