and upgrading more libs solved it. I wonder
why there's not the correct dependency..

-in.
Works fine except it will need some video mode tweaking.
Could anyone enable the fb? Theres no problem with it, you just need
the driver loaded some time during boot when it is not built-in.

features of xrdb to work you need
cpp. Then you need cpp for X (not for Linux, it can run w/o X just
fine ;). Thats how packages are made. If you installed from sources
you would really need a full compiler ;-)

At the end of the installation it tryed to make a make symbolic links
(ie /dev/mouse) but failed. Anyway mouse works just fine.
Think this is since 8.1.
Maybe something with transition to devfs?

to add some suffix to the kernel version in the makefile to avoid this
problem. It can be removed by people who know what they are doing anyway.
ie the built kernel version would be something like 2.4.8-34.1mdksrc

I was unable to upgrade initscripts:
error: failed dependencies:
dhcpcd 1.3.21pl1 conflicts with initscripts-6.40.2-6mdk
[root@uvt407-5 root]# rpm -q dhcpd
package dhcpd is not installed
Previous version of initscripts worked fine w/o dhcpd.

switch to another distro if I grew really annoyed by the heaps of
uncategorized email. But IMHO anything as complex as an OS distribution
deserves the best tools available.

No xfs is very impressive thing. You can have a dedicated font server on
one computer and then allow many onther to use it. It is prety cool and
useful. It is much better then uploading all your custom fonts to all your
computers.
Just put FontPath tcp/192.168.100.1:7100 to your clients
xsmbrowser should depend on expect as it uses expectk as interpreter.
I expect it doesnt because I installed it using URPMI and expect wasnt
automagically added.

I am able to remove and add source but I am not able to edit one -
complains about missing urpm:
Can't locate object method remove_media via package urpm (perhaps
you forgot to load urpm?) at

This is problem other packages, too. When I wanted to install wizards,
I was asked to install all software for which wizards can edit
configuration.
