I don't know what are exactly the problems you are having with XFS, but
I have installed Mandrake 8.2 in a Pentium III 800, a Pentium III 1,2GB,
a Pentium IV 1,8Gb and a Toshiba Satellite Laptop Celeron 400Mhz all
with the partitions using XFS, except swap of course, and they are
working fine.

I can reproduce the problem constantly.. civileme has asked for scripts,
but it will take me awhile to provide them as they are production
scripts for our "jumpstart"...
Seems to only be triggered on dual machines that are very fast. (2X
1.2-2.2Ghz p4 Xeons) (Basically all our new machines we get

8.1 with xfs is bad, unclean shutdown broke normal files.
but 8.2 seems good to me. i shutdown my pc unclean several
times a day, and only files *supposed to be broken* are broken.
eg: files that not written to disk may be broke.
but normal files won't broke under 8.2 in my case

As I stated, I've seen the NULL or ^@ characters on systems that were
shutdown proper.
