Hello,
I have made a new release for the sane rpm, which has some preconfiguring for
saned.
I changed the package descriptions a bit now that saned has its own package.
I will upload it to /incoming, and it's also available at:
http://www.chaosmongers.org/download/Mandrake/SRPMS/sane-1.0.9-4mdk.s
I have the same in hp.conf
the error I get from scannerdrake is:

Harddrake craches when I run it. also scannerdrake craches.
yes cdrecord -scanbus list the scanner. It works if I send it as an

When I use xsane by calling it from the gimp, it fails to transfer the
image and complaints about not being able to create secure file out.png.
When I use xsane standalone, it works well.
I would debug this one, but since it is almost 5:00AM here and I have to
work tomorrow ...

Hello,
after updating from an older cooker to todays version
sane-find-scanner doesn't find the scanner. Any hints?

Hi!
Well I think the task of building scripts to automatize the
configuration of scanners would be quite time-consuming, but I tried to
configure my Plustek parallel scanner yesterday and it failed for some
prehistoric reason ("depmod -a" returned with an error and since it was
late, I stoppe
Would be better if "sane-find-scanner" created this link, that way
if a scanner is added after the install, it is still taken care of.

Lately I said that Mustek ScanExpress 12000 didn't work, even if recognized
by kernel. Now it works again, and I have to say sorry for my stupidity. The
fact is that with "sane-find-scanner" I could see the scanner, but "scanimage
-L" (or xsane) didn't see it. Well, I only had to "ln -s /dev/sg

Ich glaube, es fixed a prob with HPOJPRO1150C.
Since last sane (that one included with 8.0) does NOT work with mustek and HP
scanners, is it possible to have a 1.0.5-pre for testing?
Thanks, C.

Hi all,
I've already reported that sane won't work with mustek scanner in actual
8.0pre.
Is it possible to recompile from cvs if someone have access to it?

I reported the same problem, the latest SANE version from cvs fixes it.
Replacing only the libmustek files is enough but strangely recompiling

Hey cookers,
I've have a Mustek 12000SP scanner connected to an adaptec 2940 scsi
interface. It was working on M7.2 but it doesnt with the SANE from
cooker (the scanner freezes after doing a preview when trying to start a
scan).
I could get it to work by getting the latest SANE from their CVS. I
(I hope I'm sending this to the maintainer of this package)
Can the sane package please be updated? A new version (1.0.4) of sane
has recently been released (they split it up into a frontend and backend
tar.gz file).
The current cooker version is 1.0.3, it hasn't been building for some
time now
Has anyone else had any problems with SANE with 7.1 or cooker?
I am unable to scan on Mandrake 7.1 or a cooker install, nor am I able to scan
with 7.0 upgraded to a 2.2.16-4mdksmp kernel(I just realized that I haven't
tried it with the monoprocessor kernel). Mandrake 7.0 is fine. I get an I/O
