Hi Jamie, go here - http://dri.sourceforge.net/DRIintro.html all your prayers/questions will be answered... btw, very recent 2.4 kernels don't work with X4.0.1 because they have different versions of the dri so use (2.2 kernel + X4) or (2.4 kernel + X3) i think, big disclaimer, i'm no expert
